THE BEGINnING
It was the year of 2018; I was browsing online until I came upon an article discussing the VEX Robotics new season. I have always wanted to join robotics and interact with it, but never got the opportunity to do so. I thought to myself, this would be the best way to start my Robotics Journey. So I gathered up with a partner and we started taking lessons in Shen Zhen.
This was the season named: Square Up. The goal was to achieve the highest amount of points with your teammate in the shortest duration of time. This was my first ever competition: Would I win or Would I fail? Continue reading for more information
Robotics is one of my biggest passions. I really like it because it inspires me to create and innovate. I have always dreamt of being able to go to the world championships, entering the finals and standing there on the stage with cameras flashing. I have been doing robotics since 2018. At first it was just me and a couple of friends with a coach who taught us the basics of coding, building and planning. But then when we found our true passion in it. We decided to join different courses to allow us to explore this even more. Slowly after the years I was able to participate in multiple tournaments and even win a couple tournaments as well. And then I advanced into Vex V5 / VRC. This was a huge step-up from the plastic parts. We were getting into metal and aluminum parts with real tools. The coding was no longer using blocks, instead we had to use C++ to create a working robot. With time and practice, I built up my skills and I signed up for the Asia Open and eventually with lots of dedication, I had successfully won my first VRC tournament. To expand my passion even further and engage more people in this hobby, I have decided to create a school club where friends and classmates could join and discover their passions in robotics as well. After doing this for a bit, I proposed to a teacher to create a middle school robotics team. This allowed me to make sign up forms and we got tons of interest! After recruiting a team of people, I have dedicated my time and effort into teaching my friends how VEX robotics works. We recently competed in our first interschool competition in September.
