EXPERIENCES

I have been playing tennis since 2019, and this was the second sport that I tried (after soccer). I first joined tennis and thought that this could be a great way to make new friends. I made a friend named Eric and we now have a tennis coach together. We learned the basics throughout the past 2 years of playing together. I also really  enjoy tennis because it is a really good way for me to engage in physical exercise. In tennis, we use different strategies and ways to win the match. At a first look, it seems to be just about hitting the ball, but instead we have to learn to control our power and our accuracy along with considering the trajectories. One of my favourite memories of tennis was when I was in a competition during my 2nd year. I did not expect good results as it was one of my first times even participating inside one of these tournaments. After the first game, I was surprised at my results as it was beyond what I expected. I learned from that experience that I should not doubt myself, instead I should stay determined and trust in my abilities.

Since I really enjoy trying out new things, I decided to try out a new sport: Basketball. This was another sport I have always wanted to do but never tried. I decided to challenge myself and try out for the school team. Because I did really well in the placement matches and took the development training, I was granted a spot in the team. Training hard every day allowed me to persevere through the different classes and I learned new skills. I have also been practicing every week for hours trying to improve myself, my coaches has also gave me the opportunity to participate in different competitions and scrimmages.
